Setka Cup opens new location in Ukraine

Ukraine’s largest platform for table tennis development, the Setka Cup which is powered by BETER, has opened a new location in Lviv.

Ukraine’s largest platform for table tennis development, the Setka Cup which is powered by BETER, has opened a new location in Lviv.

The rooms at the new venue in the west of the country are named after the most influential cities in ping-pong history: London and Beijing. The latter, the largest of all Setka Cup rooms, measures 8×16 metres. Setka Cup’s total area in Kyiv, Dnipro and Lviv is 2,730m2.

Commenting on the bigger premises, Denys Kalachevskyi, Setka Cup tournaments organiser, said: “This new location enables us to hold tournaments of all levels. In addition, we will expand the table tennis community, which already consists of more than 550 rated players and 5,000 fans.”

The Setka Cup, which famously continued to stage matches even as the Covid-19 pandemic put paid to most of the world’s sporting calendar last spring, puts on more than 6,500 matches per month. All games are dynamic and have an average duration of 30 minutes. With live analytics and detailed player statistics available, each game can have up to 20 betting markets.

“We have 24/7 live streaming, and up to seven table tennis games happen simultaneously. Our athletes don’t play more than three days in a row and can’t participate in more than one tournament per day. It helps to avoid sports injuries and professional burnout. And, of course, we comply with all the quarantine rules and check the health of our players daily,” Denys added.

Only three people can be present in a room during the game: two players and one referee. This rule helps prevent any influence on players and thus any possible interference in the game’s outcome.

BETER powers the SETKA CUP brand and is an exclusive provider of live streaming, odds and live data of its tournaments.
